Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You may use HooperIQ if you are at least 13 years old. Users under 13 may use the Service only with verifiable consent from a parent, guardian, school, or team that invites them through an official HooperIQ team code. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Subscriptions and payments

• HooperIQ offers free features and paid subscriptions. Pricing is displayed before you subscribe.
• Subscriptions purchased on iOS or the App Store are billed by Apple and managed through your Apple ID. Subscriptions purchased on the web are billed by our payment processor (Stripe).
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled before the renewal date.
• You can cancel any time: on iOS through your Apple subscription settings; on web through the Settings screen or by contacting support@hooperiq.com.
• Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.

4. Team codes

If you join through a team code, the organization that issued the code may receive aggregated performance data about your use of HooperIQ (for example, your quiz scores and streaks) so coaches can support your development. The organization is responsible for obtaining any consent required under applicable law before inviting you.

5. Content and intellectual property

HooperIQ, including our curriculum, video commentary, graphics, and software, is protected by intellectual property laws. You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial basketball education. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, modify, or reverse-engineer the Service or its content without our written permission.

Some video clips used in our educational content are drawn from publicly available game footage and are presented under fair-use principles for commentary, teaching, and analysis. We respect the rights of all content owners and respond promptly to valid takedown requests at support@hooperiq.com.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others.
• Attempt to disrupt, hack, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.
• Use the Service to violate any law or third-party right.
• Share your account with others or impersonate anyone.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service or delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. On termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately.

8. Disclaimers

HooperIQ is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that specific results (such as basketball performance improvements) will occur.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HooperIQ is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) fifty dollars ($50).

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
